Father With Cancer

Written By:  Andrew Eide

In the mid-1970’s my father, Allen Eide, had already divorced my mother and married my step-mother Nell. Nell lived in Santa Rosa and father lived with her.

For many years my father suffered with two types of cancer. One was prostate cancer and the other was bone marrow cancer. Both were painful for him to deal with.

In the mid-1970’s I was contacted by Nell to come up to Santa Rosa as she didn’t think my father would last long. While I was visiting we were not sure if my father would pass very soon. At the time I was visiting one of Nell’s sons was at her house also but he lived in the San Jose area. Here is a conversation that took place.

NELL:  Oh I wish it was me dying of cancer instead of Allen? He shouldn’t have to suffer like this!

NELL’S SON:  Why are you so upset over this? It’s not like it is my father!

Yes you read that correctly. While I was standing in the same room with Nell and her son, her son made that comment to me. Basically he was saying that it wasn’t his father dying and he doesn’t care.

Want to know something about his father? Nell’s first husband, who is the father of her son who made this rude insulting comment, died of a drug overdose. Let me tell you what happened. His father was a Pharmacist and he was so stressed and depressed that he decided to commit suicide. Being a Pharmacist he had all the drugs available to him and he knew what each of the drugs would do to him. Yes he overdosed on drugs as a Pharmacist and yet he disrespected my father for dying of cancer which was outside of his control.

But you know what? I had to deal with this and accept it even though it hurt to hear those comments. Sometimes you have to turn away and walk away and try to not react when things like this happen.

Cost Of Utilities

Written By:  Andrew Eide

Today I will talk about the two highest cost in our home which are electricity and water.

Our water bill is based on consumption and Gwinnett County Department of Water Services bills a certain rate for water based on 8,000 gallons per month for a single family home. Usage over 8,000 gallons is billed at a higher rate.

I informed everyone how to save water such as: don’t stay long in the shower, don’t run water constantly if you are sitting in a bath, don’t flush toilet until you absolutely need to, don’t allow water to run  while  brushing your teeth or shaving. When you wash dishes by hand turn the water off while you are soaping dishes and only turn the water on when you need to rinse them. Here are our last four water bills:

July 12 through August 7, 2018.= Used 6,.900 gallons (-1,100 under our goal of 8,000 gallons). We paid $102 this bill.

August 8 through September 7, 2018 = Used 8,900 gallons (+900 over our goal of 8,000 gallons) We paid $130 this bill.

September 8 through October 8, 2018 = Used 8,500 gallons (+500 over our goal of 8,000 gallons) We paid $124 this bill.

October 9 through November 7, 2018 = Used 8,800 gallons (+800 over our goal of 8,000 gallons) We paid $128 this bill.

In the 12 months we have been in the house we have been under 8,000 gallons but I hope we could be under 8,000 gallons more often.

When we run air conditioning during hot weather I estimate a monthly cost of $150 for electricity. This accounts for additional electric usage as the compressor that cools the air is running in addition to our house fan. When it comes time to run the heating system we cut electric usage by not having to run the compressor for the air conditioning. When you consider that to cool the house from 82 degrees to 72 degrees takes up to 8 hours to accomplish, and the fan to circulate the air and the compressor both run constantly, and compare that to running the heating system where we can heat the home from 63 degrees to 70 degrees in 2 to 3 hours, you can see where we get a lot of savings on electric usage during heater season over air conditioning season. We experience a small increase in gas usage as our heating system is gas fired but that usually amounts to an increase of $10 to $20 per month on the gas bill.

September 7, 2018 = $150 (due to using air conditioning a lot)

October 7, 2018 = $150 (due to using air conditioning a lot)

November 7, 2018 = $110 (dropped $40 due to less air conditioning usage)

December 7, 2018 =  $85 (dropped $15 due to using air conditioning only for a few days)

If you turn off lights when not in the room, run heating and air conditioning only when necessary, turn water off when taking a bath, brushing teeth, washing dishes, not flushing the toilet until absolutely necessary, and washing clothes less frequently, you can save on electricity and water.

I Cannot Take Much More Of This

Written By:  Andrew Eide

I am sorry to post this blog today but the situation in our home with a relative living with us has gotten so bad that both myself, Becx, and Keira, are so stressed we are suffering with health and stress issues. All of us are going to lose our physical and mental health soon if there is not a solution available from an organization we are contacting.

So I am posting this blog just to air out...to get it off my chest...to de-stress just a little bit. With that said please allow me to state the following:

I...
CANNOT...
TAKE...
MUCH...
OF...
THIS!!!

Thanks for listening (well...reading anyway).

Take A Walk In My Shoes

Written By:  Andrew Eide

There's a saying "Take a walk in my shoes before you judge me" and what that means is before you condemn others for what they do, or how they act, take a walk in their shows, see and experience what they are dealing with. Let me give you an example.

From the mid-1960's until I left the house when I joined the Navy in February 1972 my father drank heavily. We all just chalked it up to him being an alcoholic.

Many years after I left home and he divorced my mother I visited him and asked him why he drank so much.

Father replied that he has been suffering with a combination of prostate and bone marrow cancer since the mid-1960's and the pain is so intense the only thing in addition to pain medications he was taking was to drink alcoholic beverages to kill the pain.

I asked father why he didn't tell us in the family that he was suffering from cancer and he said he didn't want to burden us with his illness.

I replied that it would have been better for us to know his illness, and his pain, and that he draink to kill the pain, rather than just assume he was a run of the mill alcoholic.

So before you judge others please take the time to find out what is bothering them, what is ailing them, what is stressing them.

Thanks!

Jury Duty

Written By:  Andrew Eide

I served on a Jury in San Diego in the late 1990’s. It was a criminal Attempted Assault and Battery trial against a friend of an Attorney who was renting office space from a Paralegal who owned an office building in Chula Vista, California. The case was that the Paralegal who owned the office building (the Plaintiff) was suing the Attorney who was renting office space from him claiming that when he went into the Attorney’s office to speak with him over issues he was having with the Attorney he found a thug sitting at the Attorney’s desk holding a baseball bat. The Paralegal quickly left the office and filed the lawsuit claiming that the Attorney was intimidating him with Attempted Assault and Battery.

My thought as a Juror was that AN ATTORNEY WHO HAS HIMSELF AS A CLIENT HAS AN ATTORNEY WHO IS A FOOL and that applied to this Paralegal as he was representing himself. Here is the very first round of questions.

The Defense Attorney’s first witness was the Paralegal who was also the Plaintiff. Here is the back and forth as I remember it:

DEFENSE ATTORNEY:  Have you ever heard of a business in Chula Vista named Cafe Legale?

PARALEGAL (PLAINTIFF):  No.

DEFENSE ATTORNEY:  I will ask you again. Have you ever heard of a business in Chula Vista named Cafe Legale?

PARALEGAL (PLAINTIFF):  No.

She asked him the same question a dozen different ways including specifically if he owned that business called Cafe Legale in Chula Vista and he answered No to every way the question was answered.

DEFENSE ATTORNEY:  Your Honor I would like to introduce this document into evidence for this trial. It is a filing with San Diego County for a Fictitious Business Name of Cafe Legale in Chula Vista, California.

Judge looks at the document and enters it as evidence. Defense Attorney brings document for filing for Fictitious Business Name within San Diego County to the Witness who is the Paralegal and the Plaintiff. She shows it to him and points to the document.

DEFENSE ATTORNEY:  What is the name of the business requested on this form for filing for Fictitious Business Name?

PARALEGAL (PLAINTIFF):  Cafe Legal.

DEFENSE ATTORNEY:  Would you please tell the Court who applied for this Fictitious Business Name and who signed the form?

PARALRGAL (PLAINTIFF):  My name is on the form and I signed it.

DEFENSE ATTORNEY:  Didn’t you respond, under Oath, on the witness stand, more than a dozen times that you’ve never heard of the business in Chula Vista named Cafe Legal, that you are not the owner of that business, and you know nothing about it? But now you admit you own the business and you filed the document with San Diego County to legally have the rights to the Fictitious Business Name of Cafe Legal? Your Honor I’m done with this witness!

What did I think, as a Juror, at that point in the trial meaning the very first question session? I thought if this guy, a Paralegal who should know better, lied under Oath a dozen times on the first question, there’s no way I could believe anything else he said.

I will not go into all the details but the bottom line is the person harassing everyone else was the Paralegal who owned the company Cafe Legal. He terrorized and threatened everyone. He even illegally represented himself as an Assistant to the Attorney who rented office space from him, and signed up clients and when those clients came to see the Attorney of course the Attorney had no clue who these people were.

We obtained a unanimous NOT GUILTY verdict against the Attorney and his hired protection man. after the trial I waiting for the thug to get off the phone and then I asked if I could talk to him. I told him I was on his Jury and he got the Not Guilty Verdict because all the Plaintiff, the Paralegal did, was lie under oath. Then, under my breath, I said to the thug, I KNOW YOU DIDN’T WHACK THE JERK WITH THE BASEBALL BAT BUT SEEING WHAT A JERK HE WAS IN THE COURTROOM I WISH YOU HAD BEAT HIM WITH THE BASEBALL BAT.

The man thanked me for serving on his trial.

Then the Attorneys on the part of the Plaintiff, the Paralegal, stopped me in the hallway and she asked me straight up why we found the Defendant Not Guilty. I told her bluntly YOU SENT WITNESS AFTER WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION TO THE WITNESS STAND AND EVERY WITNESS BLEW UP IN YOUR FACE. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD DON’T SEND WITNESSES TO TESTIFY WHO ALL TURN ON YOU.

June 2018

Written By:  Andrew Eide

When June 2018 hit us in the Atlanta Metro area we were suddenly plunged into very hot weather. For the first two weeks of June 2018 we have had high temperatures in the low 90 degrees range. Starting the third week of June we have the same but the highs are predicted to start dropping by the third weekend in June.

Sure hope so because this hot and humid weather is causing me to have a bad sinus headache and sweat a lot.

So You Think You Have It Bad? Maybe You Don't!

Written By:  Andrew Eide

I married my first wife November 11, 1974. She passed away from Pneumonia on May 8, 1990. I was born November 14, 1953, which means I was 36 years and 6 months of age when I became a Widower.

I remarried on September 30, 1990, and my second wife developed breast cancer which was diagnosed in April 2005. She suffered horribly, wasn’t able to endure any medications or treatments, and she suffered a horrible and painful death and she died on her 59th birthday of July 17, 2009.

So you think you have it bad because you got a “B” grade on an exam? You think you have it bad because you applied for a job and you were not the applicant who was hired? You think you have it bad when your paper comes back from the teacher with lots of red marks on it for incorrect answers and wrong spelling? You whine, and cry, and demand a “safe” place at school or your work and a “support” animal to help you cope with your “problems?”

Add to what I went through my previously mentioned stress the fact that I worked for 20 years in the United States Navy, one year as a Civil Service Secretary, and another 20 years both full-time and part-time, and you realize that over 42 years of working I was abused, threatened, lied about, discriminated against, etc.

Let me ask you something. Did you become a Widower at 36 years of age and again at the age of 56? Did you have to endure the agonizing death of someone who suffered through pneumonia and could barely breathe until they went into a coma and died.

Did you have to endure the agonizing and painful death of someone who suffered with breast cancer, couldn’t endure any treatments, and they suffered horribly for four years? Did you have to endure that person telling you hundreds of times it was your fault they have cancer and they are dying when you had nothing to do about it?

No you didn’t. So until you do don’t even think about talking about me, to my face or behind my back, and condemn me for my attitude.

You have it easy compared to what I had. But you want to know the difference? While you’re a friggin’ entitlement jerk snowflake I’ve earned everything I obtained, I’m not a jerk, and I know right from wrong.

Foolish For You To Give Up Your Constitutional Rights

Written By:  Andrew Eide

There is a huge debate going on in the United States right now. On one side you have David Hogg, a self-professed bully who admitted he viciously bullied the student that shot up the school he was attending at the time in Florida. David Hogg then made a public statement that “A bully is a bully and you have to stand up to bullied” and yet David Hogg, and those who follow lock-step with him, are bullying everyone else who doesn’t go along with their gun banning nonsense.

Listen up. During mid-March 2018 David Hogg and his cult followers made comments during their gun banning march. Some of the comments are below and I am paraphrasing what they said.

(1)  David Hogg flatly stated he demands that guns be banned. He then said when he accomplishes banning guns if we refuse to hand over our guns he will kill us.

(2)  A female student from the school stated that she knows they are not going to be able to get a total ban on guns. So she went on to state they will accept banning of smaller things like a certain type of gun or ammunition. She then said “Once we have them conceded and give us an INCH we will TAKE A MILE!

(3)  These anti-gun people also think an AR-15 is an “Assault Rifle” and it is not. They demand all Assault Rifles are banned. They don’t seem to know that the United State already bans Assault Rifle. They also don’t know that an AR-15 is not an Assault Rifle. The pure definition of an Assault Rifle is a fully automatic weapon which means a machine gun. The AR-15 is not a machine gun. It fires only one shot at a time. It is the equivalent of having a rifle version of a pistol that has a slide mechanism. Once you fire a shot the gasses open the chamber and load another round. That is not a machine gun people!

David Hogg has gone on to attack Fox News, Laura Ingraham, and several politicians including Senator John McCain, and he demands to know why they take money donations from the NRA (National Rifle Association). I ask David Hogg “Why are you taking money from the DNC (Democratic National Committee) and George Soros? The accusations works both ways you know.

Here’s the bottom line. Those who want to ban guns, and they are usually Liberals and Democrats, want OUR guns, YOUR guns, taken away, but they don’t want their guns taken away. Listen closely when you hear Democrat Politicians talk about banning guns. Watch when someone asks them if they will also give up their guns and they always answer “No we will not give up our guns as the gun banning law will not apply to politicians.” Please remember the Constitution prohibits Congress from making laws that apply to our Citizens but not to members of Congress.

So here are your choices. You can fight these gun banning fanatics and remain as a Citizen who is able to protect yourself from those who want to ban our guns...or you can give up your Constitutional Right to Bear Arms and then you become a target for those who banned YOUR guns but they kept their guns.

Time to make an intelligent decision.

Create or Destroy

Written By:  Andrew Eide

Often I find Scientists and Astronomers to be beyond hilarious. Scientists are to base their findings on only absolute proven facts. Astronomers tend to make stuff up to try to explain what we don’t know.

The first item is that they claim when we look outward with telescopes we can see to the far reaches of the Universe. In reality we can barely see two or three planets away from Earth. To date we have not been able to see to the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. And yet these Astronomers and Scientists claim we can see half way across the Universe when we cannot even see clearly to the last planet in our Solar System and have never yet been able to view the center of our own Milky Way Galaxy.

The other day I’m watching Science Channel program titled How the Universe Works. On this episode they were asking the question why the planet Mercury has less thickness of a mantle than Venus, Earth, and Mars, since all four planets are “inner” planets and should be very similar in how they are made up.

These Scientists claim that many collisions between objects is what formed planets. They claim that when these huge objects hurl toward each other and collide they come together to form a planet. Here on Earth I have yet to see any collision or explosion “create” anything except to create a mess.

Have you seen cars slam into each other in an auto accident and create a larger car? No you have not because in every case when two or more cars crash into each other destruction happens. Not sure how these Scientists can believe that things crashing into each other creates things.

These same Scientists claim there was a huge explosion and that created everything in the Universe. Have you ever seen an explosion create something? No you have not. We didn’t drop bombs on each other during wars to make new things we dropped these bombs to destroy what already exists. Do you honestly believe if we put a large explosive device into a large dump site and blew it up that it would create a car, an airplane, or a building, from the explosion? Of course you wouldn’t believe that it would.

So on this episode of How the Universe Works they had to try to come up with an explanation why the crust, or mantle, of Mercury is only one-third the thickness of those of Venus, Earth, and Mars. Are you ready for their explanation? Are you sure? Be ready to laugh okay?

These same Scientists who claim that items smashing into each other causes them to come together and form planets now state that items crashing into Mercury caused two-thirds of the mantle, or crust, to be knocked off and fly off into space, therefore reducing the size of the planet Mercury and the thickness of the mantle.

So which is it? Does violent explosions and collisions “create” stuff or “destroy” stuff? It cannot be both. The laws of Physics prove that explosions and collisions will destroy things.

Scientists and Astronomers keep me laughing.

The Right Side

Written By:  Andrew Eide

Although my main theme for the month of March is “marching” things there’s nothing wrong with me marching into this month’s topics by talking about the right side of things.

Studies have proven that humans have two faces. Well they have one face but two sides which are the right side and the left side.

Studies have also proven that when someone wants to see if another person is sincere and honest they look at the right side of that person’s face as the right side of the face will give you away.

If you don’t believe me then you can look up the research on this subject yourself and you will find I am talking the truth.

In fact even animals know this concept and in most cases when an animal looks at you to determine if you are being real and honest or fake and lying they will look to the left toward the right side of your face.

So there really is a reason why there is a term that someone is “two faced” or that they have “put on a different face” even though they are not literally two faced or put on a different face.

Therefore the next time someone is dealing with you look at the right side of their face and you should be able to determine if they are telling the truth or if they are lying to you.

Lovely To Make A Profit

Written By:  Andrew Eide

Which is better to accomplish in your business? A profit? A loss? Break even? Anyone with any sense will, of course, state that making a profit if what being in business is about.

I’m going to use an example of selling book sets to families where you, the business owner, purchase the set of books for $200 per set and then you sell the set of books for $400. On paper you make back your $200 and make a $200 profit on each full sale of $400. However there are various ways of calculating things.

Say you sell 10 sets of books per month. You must purchase the 10 sets of books at a cost of $200 each for a monthly expense of $2,000. If you sell all 10 sets of books for $400 each you will make $4,000 which is a profit of $2,000. If you sell all 10 sets of books for $250 each you will make a profit of $500.

In most cases a smart business owner would ask for a minimum down payment from the customer that is what they paid for the books for sale. In our example today the business owner purchases a set of books for $200 from the book publisher and then they ask for $200 deposit from the person purchasing the books. This way the business owner will break even and not lose money and since the person purchasing the books made an investment of $200, which is 50 percent of the purchase price, they are likely to pay the business owner until the account is paid off rather than default on payments and have the books taken away.

In the example above if I am a business owner and I purchase 10 sets of books from the publisher at $200 each I spent $2,000 for inventory. If I only get from customers $200 each as a down payment I have made back my investment of $2,000 and I break even. Some would argue if that’s all I end up getting from the customers then I lost $2,000 but I say no that is not the case. Breaking even doesn’t mean you lost money. You broke even and didn’t make a profit. There’s a huge difference.

If you purchase the book sets for $2,000 and get full payment of $400 for each set sold you made $4,000 which means you recovered your $2,000 outlay for inventory and you made $2,000 profits.

There are some in business who, when confronted with this scenario, don’t want to accept that they broke even of made only 25 percent to 50 percent of what they expected to make after covering costs. You simply do not LOSE money when you reach the break-even point and for sure you do not LOSE money if you make even One Dollar over what you spent for inventory.

The concept is so simple that’s what makes it hard for some people to understand.

Is Oncology Good Or Bad

Written By:  Andrew Eide

Today I’m likely to irk a hell of a lot of people including family members who are Doctors and Nurses and who work in Oncology which is the study and treatment of cancer.

When I lived in Redlands, California, my last wife, who passed away in July 2009, had cancer. She was scheduled to see Doctor Godfrey at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California.

While walking my dog, Lucky, I came across my friend who asked how my wife was doing and if she was going to see an Oncologist. I told them yes and gave them Doctor Godfrey’s name. Then they told me this story.

They said a friend of theirs had cancer and was referred to Oncology at Loma Linda University Medical Center to see Doctor Godfrey. Their friend related the story that when Doctor Godfrey came into the room he yelled at him rudely and said (I am paraphrasing what he said here):  “WHY ARE YOU HERE? YOUR CANCER IS TOO FAR GONE FOR ME TO TREAT YOU! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET HELPED BY ANY TREATMENT! YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME! GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!”

I asked my friend if this doctor was reported to the Board of Directors at Loma Linda University Medical Center for his insensitive and rude treatment of a patient. My friend told me there are dozens of complaints about Doctor Godfrey but the other Board members refuse to take action against Doctor Godfrey because he is a high ranking Board member, a high amount financial donor to Loma Linda University Medical Center, so they look the other way even though he abuses patients.

I feel Doctor Godfrey should have been removed from Loma Linda University Medical Center and should have had his Medical License revoked by the State of California.

My friend then related to me that their friend went to Cancer Treatment Centers of America just outside of Los Angeles for treatment. Although their friend is not “cured” of cancer they were able to get it into remission which means it is not getting worse.

Don’t take abuse from doctors even if they are a specialist as often they are there for the money and not for the benefit of the patient.

Best To Leave Cancer Alone

Written By:  Andrew Eide

It is best to leave your cancer tumor alone rather than remove it from your body. Okay you are screaming at me right now but once you are informed you will understand why I made this comment.

Back in the 1970’s and 1980’s cancer “treatment” was still in the early stage where doctors had no clue what to do. It was an era of experimenting with anything and everything in hopes of finding something that could reduce, or eliminate, a tumor from the body.

The biggest hurdle doctors faced is that once they removed a large tumor from patients the majority of patients immediately developed a few, up to dozens, of tumors throughout their bodies. This baffled doctors since they removed the large tumor.

A doctor, who was not into the specialty of treating cancer, and he was also not an Oncologist, came up with his reason why people who have a large cancer tumor removed usually develop a few, to dozens, of tumors all around their bodies after the large tumor was removed.

He reasoned that the largest tumor probably drills tendrils into the blood system and then it released growth inhibitors which cause all the other tumors in the body to stop growing. He reasoned once you remove the dominant tumor that also removes the growth inhibitors it was inserting into the blood stream to prevent other tumors from growing. He said without grown inhibitors in the blood stream all the other tumors that are tapped into the blood system now grow rapidly and take over a person’s body.

This doctor was ridiculed, medical journals refused to print his articles, and the medical community refused to let him speak at events. Then in the early 2000’s it was discovered by cancer specialists that this doctor was right about the dominant tumor inserting growth inhibitors into the blood to prevent other tumors from growing. Once that dominant tumor is removed, along with the growth inhibitors, the other tumors run amok and take over the body.

The best treatment when you have a cancer tumor? If it is not a hazard to your health, such as blocking your intestines or blood flow, then you are best to leave the tumor alone, keep your immune system healthy, and exercise if you can.

If you have the dominant tumor removed you have probably around a 90 percent chance of all the smaller tumors, which were being prohibited from growing by the dominant tumor, of taking over your body.

Cancer Is Not Lovely

Written By:  Andrew Eide

I will start by stating my father, my second wife, and my sister in-law, passed away due to the ravages of cancer. It is a horrible affliction (notice I don’t call it a disease since there is no virus or infection that causes it) and I’m here to tell you the truth about cancer.

When a cell in your body divides- reproduces) the body’s immune system does a “Quality Assurance” check on that dividing-reproducing cell. If the body’s immune system determines the cell is dividing without errors it allow it to continue to divide and reproduce. Since the body’s immune system gave the go-ahead the cell is allowed to continually divide-reproduce. However if the cell is defective in reproducing the normal procedure is the body’s immune system destroys the defectively dividing cell.

If the body’s immune system makes a mistake then the cell that is reproducing incorrectly is allowed to continue to reproduce incorrectly and they turn into a mass of cells, or tumor, that we call cancer.

There is no infection or virus that causes cancer. Only abnormally reproducing cells are the cause for cancer to develop in the body. A failing immune system is a contributing cause as an incorrectly functioning immune system allows abnormally reproducing cells to continue to reproduce abnormally.

When you hear doctors and scientists claim they are finding “cures” for cancer they are lying. There’s no way to battle cancer cells when there is no cause except for an incorrectly functioning immune system. What do Doctors do? The first thing they want to do is totally destroy your immune system with chemotherapy and radiation. Why in the world would you totally destroy your immune system when that’s the only thing that protects you? You need to think hard on that one.

There is a radio talk show host out of the San Francisco Bay Area named Michael Savage. He graduated from University of California Berkeley which is a medical school.

His final thesis was on how cancer is caused only by a weakened or incorrectly functioning immune system and that the only way to prevent cancer, put cancer in remission, or to eliminate it from your body, is to keep your immune system healthy by eating a well-balanced diet and get enough exercise.

The Professors at UC Berkeley praised Michael Savage on his thesis and said it was  true and one of the best they’ve ever read. When Michael Savage asked the Professors if what he wrote is true, and that there is no medical or chemical cures for cancer, only having a properly functioning immune system is the solution why then are the Professors telling the world about it?

They replied to his question “IF WE INFORMED THE PUBLIC THERE IS NO CURE FOR CANCER EXCEPT FOR A GOOD DIET AND KEEPING THEIR IMMUNE SYSTEMS WORKING PROPERLY WE WOULD LOSE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF GRANT MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT FOR US TO STUDY AND TRY TO FIND A CURE FOR CANCER! WHY WOULD WE DO THAT?

Michael Savage presented this on his radio talk show. He turned away from UC Berkeley and never looked back. He asked how Doctors, who take the Hippocratic Oath to protect and help people through their medical skills, can continue to allow people to die from cancer so they can get Government Grant money for the study of cancer was beyond his ability to comprehend. This proves that a lot of people in the medical field are only after money and they don’t care about their patients.

Lovely Things

Written By:  Andrew Eide

Although I can come across as being insensitive, and I’ve even been called cynical, I am not those things.

For the reader who doesn’t know the main definitions of the word cynical here is what it means. To be cynical means you believe that people are motivated by self-interest and you are distrustful of human sincerity or integrity. You may be doubtful that something will happen or whether it is worthwhile.

Do I believe most people are motivated by self-interest and I tend to distrust most people? Yes to a certain extent. I’ve been hurt enough times to err on the side of being cautious so that I reduce the chance of being hurt again. When you have politicians who are money hungry and motivated by self-interest over serving their Constituents of course I’m cautious with them.

Do I often doubt something will happen? Yes and I believe most people do. When you understand why I do this it makes sense. When we were trying to purchase a home toward the end of 2017 every time I was so sure we would get the house we put the bid on something would happen to screw it up and we didn’t get that house so we had to continue searching. This happened numerous times and then we came upon the house we own now. When we put the bid in on the house I changed from being optimistic to one of caution. I mentioned that if we get the house then fine. If we don’t get the house then fine and we can continue looking. I was asked why I was being so negative and my response is that I don’t want to be discouraged again. I figure if I am in the mindset of if we get the house it is okay and if we don’t get the house it is okay and we keep looking.

So what happened? We got the house. Since I put my mind on good if we get it and if not we keep looking had we not been able to purchase this house it would have been okay and not a big disappointment. But we did get the house and it brought a larger amount of joy and satisfaction to me.

Let me close with a list of things I enjoy as I feel they are lovely. My family. Watching the sunrise. Watching the sunset. Taking a walk in the park. And many many more. I enjoy a lot of things that people don’t know I enjoy. All they need to do is ask and I will tell them all the things I like and that I feel are lovely things.

New House

Written By:  Andrew Eide

This is a photograph of our new home. It is “new” for us but the house was built in 1991 so it is actually turning 27 years of age in 2018. As of January 3, 2018, we have owned the home for 60 days since we went to Closing on November 3, 2017. On January 8, 2018, it marks the 60 day period of when we moved our furniture into the home and slept in our home overnight for the first time.

Due to purchasing an existing home, that has been purchased and sold numerous times since 1991, you can imagine that we have some repairs that needed to be made, and some still needing to be made, but overall this home was in very good condition since the owners we purchased from took care of the home inside and out, and the repairs we needed to make were minor.

A few disadvantages of this home include the following. It is a two-story home with a two-story living room. This causes the heat from the heating system to rise so that the upstairs area is often 10 degrees warmer than downstairs. Nothing we can do about it when the living room is completely open until the top of the stairs. The other item is that we wish the kitchen was larger with more storage space available but since we don’t use the garage, and we installed three large storage shelves in the garage, we have enough storage overall to suit our needs. The other item is that the actual dining room is carpeted and since we hate to eat on the carpet we put our dining table in the kitchen, near the patio door, and we eat there on the vinyl flooring. We turned the dining room into a “den” where Keira has her television on the wall where she can play video games, Wii games, and watch movies.

The advantages of purchasing this home include the following:  Compared to other homes we looked at this one required the least amount of repairs to fix things. The heating and air conditioning units were replaced recently. The heating system in the attic was replaced about a year ago and the air conditioning unit, a 3-ton unit, was newly installed in August 2017 just before we purchased the home. The size of the home is 1,964 square feet which is larger than we expected to be able to purchase. We viewed a lot of homes, before viewing this one, and most of the others were under 1,600 square feet and they cost from $20,000 to $40,000 more than this one. Our back yard is larger than most of the other homes we viewed before deciding on this one. My rough estimate is that from the back of the house to the back of the fence it is from 60 to 75 feet and the width is from 50 to 70 feet.

We have lots of work to do in the Spring to get the backyard ready for a vegetable garden. The only problem we have is there are lots of Squirrels and they love to eat vegetables we will grow. We will do our best and whatever the Squirrels don’t eat we will enjoy.

New Babies

Written By:  Andrew Eide

Since we are walking into the new year of 2018 I decided to write a blog about the concept of new things such as new baby humans and new baby animals. I have limited my graphics to that of a newborn human baby and a newborn puppy as I don’t feel the need to overload my blog with too many graphics.

It doesn’t matter if the item you are viewing is a newborn human baby, a newborn puppy, or even something as simple as a new plant sprouting in your garden. Everything starts small and tiny and grows larger. Some of these items that start out small, and often defenseless, grow at a very fast rate and others grow at a slower rate, depending upon the environment and how generations of reproduction has dictated things.

One example is that of a prey animal such as a deer or other wild animal. Usually the babies are born and able to walk and run within a matter of minutes. This is due to generations of their species being prey, or food, for predators. It just comes naturally that their babies would be able to stand, walk, and run, quickly to avoid being eaten.

However when human babies they are pretty much unable to do things on their own and they are considered defenseless for at least one year. Then at the one year point they start to comprehend how to do things on their own but they are still pretty much defenseless and that is why human babies remain with their parents until they are out of their teen years. A way different concept when you consider that most animals will leave their parents when they are about six months of age.

New Years Resolutions

Written By:  Andrew Eide

When a new year comes into existence two things happen. One is that most people want to celebrate the doing away with the current year and launching into a new year and the other is that most people make resolutions they want to accomplish in the near year. Both are usually doomed to failure.

I honestly don’t care if I am in the year 2017 or 2018. It is just another day and another number added to the number of years. Since time on Earth is a man-made concept for how to determine time in certain segments it isn’t relative to what the Universe is doing. For all we know time is a fluid item in the Universe and it doesn’t have a beginning or an end. For us as humans on Planet Earth, which is miniscule compared to the entire Universe, then how we determine time is meaningless in the overall concept of things.

On the concept of making resolutions to keep in the new year I’ve never met anyone who kept all their resolutions. Maybe it is nice to make a list to put in front of you to remind you what you want to accomplish but if every year you accomplish one or two of the dozen or more resolutions then you have failed so why keep doing it year after year throughout your life?

I have a to-do list of things I wish to accomplish but they are not things I need to list as resolutions to accomplish because they are normally in-real-life things that I am trying to accomplish on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Since I am continually attempting to resolve these items at all times I never feel a need to make resolutions to lead me into the next year as New Year’s Resolutions.
